‘Gamers all over the world stop playing to clap frontline workers.’

During 2020’s first lockdown, the world came together to clap for key workers. But for gamers, they’d often lose track of time and forget to show their support.

AMD put a stop to that. On Thursday 28th May at 8pm GMT, the world’s most popular game, Fortnite, froze. No running, shooting, looting or killing. As gamers put down their guns, so did their avatars. While the world clapped key workers, Fortnite characters gave their own virtual applause from inside the game, putting their hands together for the real heroes.
